Plutonium-210 is in all of the cigarets that you smoke every day. It comes naturally to a plant. Tobacco companies didn't want you to know about that. They made a technique to get rid of radiation from your smoke and it is called "acid washing". Tobacco companies say it will hurt pay for farmers, but in reality it's because they want their customers to get an instant nicotine high.
Scientists from the University of California, Los Angeles, reviewed 27 previously unanalyzed documents and found that tobacco companies knew about the radioactive content of cigarettes as early as 1959. The companies studied the polonium throughout the 1960s, knew that it caused "cancerous growths" in the lungs of smokers.
DEATHS: 138 deaths for every 1,000 smokers over a period of 25 years.
