Vehicle manufacturers have the technology to inform the driver that the passenger air bag has been turned off or on due to weight being sensed on the passenger front seat. We propose having the same technology be applied to the rear seat of vehicles alarming the driver that there is weight on the rear seat. Our hope is to minimize babies being left in cars by parents who forget that there is a child on the rear seat. Potential ideas could include the vehicle's antitheft alarm being triggered once the driver has excited the vehicle for a predetermined amount of time. The alarm could serve a dual purpose; one for notifying the owner of the vehicle and two for notifying any bystanders who may be be able to notify first responders.
