Technological progress in the form of automation, machine learning and speed of data transfer has made obsolete entire career fields over the last decade. More can be accomplished with less direct human input (physical or cognitive) than ever before. No amount of retraining/reeducation will change the underlying realities of the brave new world America finds its self living in today. A permenantly unemployed class exists and will continue to grow as society evolves, this is not a bad thing. This petition is meant to encourage the Obama administration to stop trying to change the job market into what it once was and to begin to use the power of government to ensure that all citizens have the same rights to life, liberty and to pursue happiness in this world as it is.
