There are several programs such as the William D. Ford Student Loan program that will forgive 1 year of Debt for 1 year of Civil or Community Service. However, there are NO programs to forgive Master's or Doctorial Programs. Plus in this economy young adults are burdened with re-paying student loans in a job market that is depressed. We ask the government to either 1) Create a 1 to 1 debt elimination for Masters or Doctorial Programs and RETROACTIVE it over the last 20 years. or 2) Eliminate all Federally owed Student Debt over the last 10 years to allow adults and families to pay into the economy and not have to incur further debt by requesting Forbearance year after year.
