The outstanding federal student loan debt in our country is $1.2 trillion dollars and counting. For many Americans, the student loan program is and has been the only means by which they could attend college to obtain the jobs that require a degree and that pay a living wage. Student loan debt is crippling the lives and well being of many people in this country and puts unnecessary pressure on the US economy. We have the power to forgive this debt, provide financial relief to Americans, and help improve our economy.
