This petition is an attempt to have the government shift their focus from using tax payer money on wasteful spending, bloated federal contracts, subsidies, and unneeded excess spending to solving the student debt problem. Student debt has reached a crisis level that hinders young adults from having any financial security and prevents them from contributing to the economy by preventing them from purchasing homes, cars, living essentials, and creating jobs by starting their own businesses. This petition asks that the US Government Forgives All Federally held Student Debt acquired before January 31st 2016 including but not limited to Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans, PLUS loans, and Perkins Loans.
