Forgive all student loan debt for all teachers willing to teach in Title I schools for a minimum of 5 years.

Created by B.C. on February 09, 2013

Title I schools are often in need of the highest quality teachers, yet the highest quality teachers often leave after a few years or pass over the teaching profession for more lucrative pursuits.
Currently there is a program to forgive a certain amount of student loan debt for teachers in Title I schools; however, the amount is insufficient and has not helped recruit the best and brightest.
Teachers who commit to teach in a Title I school for at least five years and demonstrate an ability to positively impact student achievement should have all student loan debt forgiven regardless of content taught.
Implementation of this plan will help ease the student loan crisis affecting so many students while also recruiting more quality graduates into the schools that need them most.
