African Americans suffered the greatest loss of wealth in the great recession. And have been the slowest group to recover. These facts coupled with the crippling debt of student loans and tuition make the black community's future look bleak. African Americans have been economically oppressed since arriving in this country. Steps must be taken to level the economic playing field. This would be a step in that direction.
