Forgive government-held student debt

Created by T.M. on September 08, 2015

The lower and middle classes have been and continue to be crushed under student debt. With the average debt to earn a Bachelor's degree being about $30,000, the result is millions of citizens that aren't able to buy a house, start a family, buy new cars, or invest back into the economy. Many aren't able to find work that pays enough to justify the debt, hence the boomerang generation, which then burdens parents and grandparents

The amount of student debt held by the Department of Education is a bubble that will burst, much like the housing market did, unless action is taken. We don't want to see another financial collapse. We ask that President Obama take executive action and forgive student debt as we know that Congress will not take any action.
