To forgive or cancel all debt from existing Federally subsidized student loans.

Created by J.B. on January 24, 2013

For the last few decades, millions of Americans have put themselves deep into debt in order to pay for college educations, saddling themselves with high student loans that cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. With the current state of the economy and the high unemployment among young people (and even those past the age of thirty...) payments on these loans have become an intolerable burden that is causing real hardship. Jobs are scarce and salaries stagnant. Many are finding themselves driven into poverty trying to maintain their payments. This takes money out of the economy and forces those burdened to delay buying homes or starting families, or giving up both entirely. Forgive or cancel all student loan debt, and let us begin our lives as citizens!
