With student loan debt topping $1 trillion in this country, it is without a doubt a major strain on the economy. Bail out the American people for once and subsidize an investment in this countries future by forgiving student loan debt.The greatest investment we can make as a country is in the education of our citizens. This should not be a for profit enterprise. Students shouldn't be forced to pay 5-10% annual interest on the loans they take out to make it through school. In an ideal world they shouldn't be forced to pay at all. Think of how many people could have been put through college using the money spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Think of how much better off we'd be. Forgive student loan debt to boost the economy and do something to bring down the costs of being educated.
