This petition urges the President to eliminate the student loan debt for borrowers who are faced with the financial hardship of attempting to pay on student loans that are financially taxing their household resources. These would include families that are financially indigent and families that are working but even with a supportive income still cannot financially afford to pay for their student loan debt.
By eliminating this debt, families could focus on caring for their children instead of attempting to figure out how to pay these loan payments that, in some cases, are more than the borrowers other financial household payments.
These payments cause stress on the borrowers and undue hardship to the families. This is a contributing factor to depression and anxiety.
