EDMC, parent of the Art Institutes, is the second-largest for-profit education corporation in the country. It is already being investigated for improper practices, and who "breached their "fiduciary responsibilities" by allowing illegal student recruiting and other practices that have seriously hurt the company's stock value and threaten its funding." As a former student of the Art Institutes, I feel I was recruited under false pretenses and false promises, and am now saddled with a student loan debt I will not conceivably pay off for more than a decade. I and others like me should have our debts partially or wholly forgiven.
