Forgive student loans for military professionals serving > 6 years (active and reserve components).

Created by G.K. on February 10, 2013

We are asking the administration to forgive the student loans of persons serving in any branch of the US military, reserve or active components, greater than 6 years. The current loan forgiveness program requiring 10 years of payments prior to "forgiveness" is not enough to reduce what is often one of the top 3 financial burdens faced by our military professionals. Military pay has not kept pace with inflation. Incentive programs and loan repayment programs are being eliminated in the military, or only offered to a select few. Military pay has not kept pace with inflation. However all the while, military members continue to answer the call, volunteering to defend our nation and its freedoms. We pray that you consider this simple measure to ease a significant burden on our military families
