The federal government should forgive student loans for persons who served at least 20 years of state or federal government service in the United States of America (USA) and have completed a bachelor and/or masters degree. Much like the service agreements that federal government offers to enlist service men and women who protect the country in the military through the Government Issue (G.I.) Bill, graduates fresh out of college who accepts permanent employment at a state or federal agency be offered the G.I. Bill and work twenty years to have student loans forgiven. Individuals who currently work in a state agency for twenty years should have their existing student loans retroactively forgiven back to the start date of their government employment.
