I propose a Congressional oversight committee chaired by average citizens to be chosen just as a jury is, to dictate how taxes are spent. Including Congressional pay and benefits, what changes are made to SS and medicare, which we pay into, and what changes are made to our Constitution.
Also to make changes to the cost of living index as needed which should include the cost of fuel and healthcare which are necessities. We should not be held hostage by corporate and market influences.
It is apparent that we can no longer put trust in our elected officials who to often make backroom deals with lobbyists and pass laws to benefit themselves.
Nor can we trust lifetime appointed Supreme Court Justices who are as political and disfunctional as Congress and are as subject to the same influences.
