Formally acknowledge that the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire during WW1 was an act of Genocide

Created by E.N. on April 21, 2016

A century ago the Ottoman government committed one of the greatest atrocities in our history - an attempt was made to annihilate an entire race. About 1.5 million Armenians and other minorities were murdered via drowning, death marches, burning and poisoning in concentration camps.

The extermination was systematic and deliberate, the evidence is plentiful and undeniable; it was a genocide. 29 nations, 44 US States, the European Parliament, scholars, historians and politicians, the European Parliament and Pope Francis himself have all affirmed it. In '05, '06 and '08 Senator Obama also affirmed it, calling the facts "undeniable", and promised to acknowledge the genocide as President.

It is time to right this moral wrong. We urge the President to formally acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.
