Because the Bill of Rights does not condone the exclusion of any religion, it is controversial to informally apologize for selecting a person because of their religious teaching and/or beliefs. Passion Conference director Louise Giglio did not in his 1990s sermon exclude people with homosexual tendencies from his religion, instead he expressed a belief that homosexuality is a brokenness similar to the brokenness shared by all mankind.
