Sunni insurgents that have captured Tikrit and Mosul and are advancing on Baghdad.
While it is possible to make convincing arguments for why we should not have invaded Iraq in the first place, it is undeniable that the success of a stable democratic government in Iraq was beneficial for the Middle East, as well as the world.
This stability was not free however. It came at the cost of over 3000 men and women of the US armed forces.
Their sacrifice however, is at risk of being rendered meaningless. As al-Qaeda edges closer to overthrowing the Iraqi government, the hard fought victories of our men and women in uniform are evaporating.
If you are unwilling to help those in Iraq, then at least apologize to the families of those whose loved ones have died in vain.
