We do herein petition Congress To Formally Declare September 11th A National Holiday, and to set it aside as a Day of Solemn Remembrance for those innocent lives that were lost in the Callous and Unwarranted attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, as well as those People on Flight 93, whose courageous actions averted further destruction, but as a result payed the ultimate sacrifice. We Petition Congress that on this Day the flags at state and federal buildings be lowered to half-mast in honor of the dead, and that special services or ministrations be held at both memorials [in New York and Pennsylvania]. We petition that this Day of Remembrance (September 11th, 2001) be a somber holiday, And that, from this point forward, it be officially known as Remembrance Day.
