Recent scholarly research (e.g. by Mary Brigid McManamon, a constitutional law professor at Widener University) has raised concerns that Ted Cruz is not a "natural born citizen" and therefore is not eligible to run for President of the United States. We therefore petition President Obama and his administration to provide a formal ruling, either from the Office of the President or from the Supreme Court on whether he is legally a "natural born citizen" of the United States of America. It is unclear whether he is eligible to hold the office of President of the United States and a formal ruling on this issue will also close a confusion with future Presidential candidates.
