This petition was created to formally request Eric Holder, United States Attorney General, to re-examine the sentencing of one Robert H. Richards IV, of Delaware. Richards pled guilty to raping his 3-year-old daughter, and received 8 years probation (not a single day behind bars) because the judge thought Richards “would not fare well” in prison. The signatories of this petition strongly request Mr. Holder to re-sentence Richards to no LESS than life in prison.
Also, the signatories of this petition strongly request that Mr. Holder investigate the Judge, Jan R. Jurden, behind this outrageous sentence. Since the defendant (Richards) is a descendent of the du Pont family, we highly suspect there were “other” motivations for this judge to pass such a sentence.
