Formally request that the Senate move to change the rules on the Filibuster.

Created by G.L. on November 17, 2012

Although there are those who would do away with it entirely, the filibuster serves a purpose when used properly. Its abuse under the current Republican minority, however, has placed this sacred institution in danger of being removed entirely, which is not what our founding fathers would have wanted. We therefore petition the Office of the President to send a letter to the Senators and Senators-Elect of his party urging them to reform the Filibuster by removing certain abuses from it, and by requiring those legislators who wish to filibuster to stand and speak against the bill instead of simply staying silent and announcing that they wish to filibuster.
