Ban any automatic weapon for sale through any me mum across the whole of the USA and limit the number of weapons to a maximum of 1 per household all excess weapons to be handed in together with any automatic weapon.
Each weapon held to be licenced annually and checked on the premises by a suitable assessment officer who will ensure that the weapon is kept in a secure place and that the householders are deemed to be suitably responsible for keeping a weapon. If there are any concerns then the weapon would be confiscated.
