Most have heard of the requests made by over twenty states' residents to secede from the United States. This in itself is proof that the education system is flawed; specifically in US History lessons. Most of the very states that are involved in this request for secession are, in fact states that were in the Confederate States of America (CSA), which were a group of states who felt as thought they should create their own government that is separate from the United States. This petition is a request to fortify the United States History lessons in the education system so that people learn about the past events that make this nation what it is today. After all, history, if not learned is destined to repeat itself.
