Foster Policies to Counter Climate Change

Created by J.W. on November 06, 2012

The United States needs to implement renewable energy sources and increase energy efficiency to slow down climate change. The federal and state governments must effect policies that boost wind and solar power. At the same time, national, state, and local policies must reward energy efficiency and measures such as "white roof" construction to reduce greenhouse emissions. At a time when the effects of global warming such as extreme weather, drought, and rising sea levels are only beginning to show up, the United States should assert international leadership to prevent negative impacts. We owe our children and grandchildren the legacy of an earth that is intact and can support generations to come.
