Politicians seem to have made a habit of misleading the American public. Support/initiate legislation that would foster truth in public discourse. Empower the FCC or some other nonpartisan federal organization, when alerted by a third party of a political figure’s misleading comments, to investigate these comments, and if deemed necessary, to issue a clarification if the originator of the comments declines to do so. Television stations that have a news broadcast would have to cover these clarifications or scroll them on the bottom of the screen during a potion of their news cast.
