David W. Lanier was sentenced in 1993 to 25 years in federal prison. He was a first time offender and his case was a politically motivated, precedent setting case at the time. He was sentenced under manditory minimum guidelines and should have never even been tried in federal court. He has lost everything at this point - his family, his career, his life essentially. He has served over 15 years of his sentence. His health is poor and he will be 77 next month. We are at least trying to get his sentence commuted to time served so he can live the remaining years of his life with his family. His scheduled release date is March 13, 2018. He will be 83, if he lives that long. Please help.
