Bradley Manning's extraordinary bravery in revealing classified information such as the "Collateral Murder" video should be commended, not condemned. The government's desire to keep potentially embarrassing information secret does not surpass the people's right to know.
The military has inflicted what amounts to cruel and unusual punishment under the 8th amendment by forcing Private Manning to stand naked for several hours without any reason other than to humiliate and degrade him.
Private Manning was arrested in May of 2010, and been held without trial since, violating his 6th amendment right to a speedy trial.
The time has come for the government to do the right thing and order Private Manning's immediate and unconditional release.
