Carly McKinney (@CarlyCrunkBear) has been wrongfully suspended by the Cherry Creek School District for expressing herself on Twitter. Mrs. McKinney posted pictures of herself as well as mentioned bringing marijuana to school. The pictures were not nude and there was no evidence that Mrs. McKinney actually brought said substances to her school. We feel as though the school district overreacted by suspending her. Her actions did not hinder her performance as a teacher and we demand Cherry Creek School District to allow her to return to work.
What teachers or other employees in the United States do in their free time is of no business to the employer unless such actions cause negative impacts or endangers the lives of others.
Please help keep work and social life separate!
