The United States is a free sovereign nation under a democratic form of government. It shouldn't hold on to anymore colonies in the Western Hemisphere.
Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States whose residents though citizens are deprived and denied all the rights and privileges of a sovereign nation. The individual states possess Puerto Rico through Congress. A resident commissioner without voting privileges is the sole representative of the people in the U.S. Congress.
Therefore, the United States of America must adhere to the principles of democracy embedded in its Constitution finally allow the people of Puerto Rico to be a free and sovereign nation with reparations for it has wrongfully possessed the island as a booty of the Spanish-American War since 1898.
