Free Jane Doe from Criminal Imprisonment Based on No Charges Are Held Against Her and Past Abuses by The Federal System.

Created by B.H. on May 21, 2014

Jane Doe, a transgender women has been put in a criminal prison in Connecticut with no charges against her and based on that it is "for her own protection" because she has been raped many times since she was a small child, and many times under care in State facilities and by foster parents. There has even been talk of sending her to an all male, adult institution. This is terrible, on the basis that congressional findings in the 2003 Prison Rape Elimination Act state that juveniles held in adult facilities of any kind are five times as likely to be sexually assaulted, which is exactly what is trying to be stopped. We ask the U.S. Government to step in and release Jane Doe, who also may have been placed in this imprisonment based on lack of clear rulings for transgender humans and bias.
