Dear Mr. President:
As a President who has expressed his strong determination to restore honor to American democracy, WE the PEOPLE would like to call your attention to the case of Jonathan Pollard and to request that you exercise your power of executive clemency to commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence to time-served. Pollard never had a trial. Pollard was indicted on only one charge. In spite of his plea agreement and in spite of his cooperation, Pollard received an unprecedented, grossly disproportionate life sentence. After more than two decades in the harshest of prison conditions, Pollard is ill and his health is rapidly deteriorating. Pollard has expressed remorse for his actions.WE the PEOPLE therefore, strongly urge you commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence to time-served.
