Julian Assange and Wikileaks have played an essential role in helping the American people stay informed about the inner workings of our government--a government which is intended to be, "for the people, by the people."
The now six-years pending criminal investigation of Mr.Assange by the US is unlawful and based only on his news gathering and reporting activities, which have actually benefited the people of the United States. There is no legitimate basis for continuing the Department’s lengthy criminal investigation of Mr. Assange and WikiLeaks. The continuing criminal investigation in which Julian Assange is a target should be closed immediately with no criminal charges being brought.
