For nearly 1,000 days, a Flint, Michigan man and U.S. Marine has been locked in one of the world's most notorious prisons. Hekmati, who grew up in Flint and has family there, is expected to have been imprisoned for 1,000 days in Iran as of May 26. He was in Iran in the summer of 2011 to visit relatives he had never met. The Iranian government said otherwise. They claim he was a CIA spy and sentenced him to death, and locked him in one of the world's most notorious prisons. We urge the Obama administration to make his freedom a must for Iran, if we give any concessions in regards to their nuclear program.
