Provide health care for all, simply and with little government interference by giving each citizen a $5k tax credit usable for the purchase of health care insurance ($5k*323M or $1.615T before savings). Insurers who accept a penny of this money would be required by law to do two things, accept all who apply regardless of preconditions and give customers what they promise. This would relieve employers of the present RIDICULOUS burden that has nothing to do with their businesses. It would eventually eliminate Medicare and Medicaid (you get $5k and stop paying some taxes). A family of 4 would have $20k to buy a plan from a myriad of insurers who will promise you the moon to get some of these dollars (Feds would make some money fining insurers who fail to deliver).
