Mr. Aden is humanist and honorable statesman who went back to Somalia to help find a lasting peace after 21 years of civil war. Mr. Aden is husband and father of 6 kids. He is a leader and a mentor who is respected in the community. He was known for his untiring support and advocacy for his fellow students and community members.
The arrest of Mr. Aden is the result of the Belgium’s overreaction and lack of understanding of the power dynamics of Somalia. Mr. Aden ran everything with only politics and diplomacy but never had the military power to challenge or rid piracy from this region.
Mr. Aden’s arrest is a setback to finding a lasting peace in Somalia.
