Jose Antonio Vargas is a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist who did groundbreaking work in the 2008 campaign tracking the impact of technology on politics and campaigns.
In 2011, he bravely outed himself as an undocumented immigrant -- he easily could have continued doing groundbreaking journalism while hiding his immigration status. And he would welcome a path to citizenship for himself and countless others who were brought here as children, have paid taxes, created jobs for American citizens, and contributed to society in other ways.
This morning (July 15, 2014), US Border Control handcuffed and detained him as he tried to board a domestic flight from McAllen, Texas.
The US Government should immediately release Vargas as it works to reform our immigration laws.
