Today’s smartphones include an FM receiver chip that will let consumers listen to free radio on their phones. But wireless carriers deactivate these chips to force consumers to listen to streaming radio which consumes data and drains your phone's battery. Sign this petition to ask the government to take action to get wireless carriers to activate the radio chips so we can hear our local stations for FREE. We shouldn’t be forced to pay to stream local radio – especially in emergencies – it should be FREE and at our fingertips!
