Sergey Litvinenko was arrested by Interpol in a Croatia airport on August 25th, 2012 under FBI order for extradition to the US in accordance with FBI Operation “Open Market”, criminal case No: 2:12-CR-004 (PACER) and charged with 18 USC § 1962(d). We request that his status in this case be changed from suspect to witness and that he be released from the Croatian prison and sent home to Ukraine. Sergey has never engaged in any criminal activities in US territory and has always complied and cooperated with law enforcement officials both local and abroad. He will be happy to assist the FBI in their investigation. Sergey desperately requires medical care. Moreover, his son has had to struggle through a battle with cancer while he sits helpless to provide the care his child deserves.
