According the United States Constitution, "No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of the law; nor deny any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” The federal government is not upholding this amendment by allowing states to decide personal freedoms as in marriage. Any person of legal age (18) shall have the freedom to marry any other person of legal age no matter their sexual orientation, race, creed, etc. It is a constitutional right. States cannot deny any person this freedom.
