The A&E television network should not be able to suspend employees on its programing when they express their religious beliefs because it goes against our First Amendment rights. Employees of A&E should feel safe knowing that their First Amendment rights will not be violated, and as of now they do not have that comfort.
A&E abused their power by suspending employee, Phil Robertson, for speaking out about his religious views on homosexuality and "sinners" alike. This is the ongoing fight to have Freedom of Speech unimpeded by the corporation an individual works for. It is unacceptable to be in the position of suspension or termination based on personal opinions. We need to stop A&E and other corporations from letting their personal agendas outweigh professional decisions.
