Freeze the Age of H4 Dependent children at the time of approval for I-140, rather than freezing it at I-485 Approval.

Created by M.W. on January 27, 2013

Turning 21 for most young people is a happy time. It is a time when they have reached a certain level of independence and freedom represented by their biological age. While most people celebrate with a party, for many immigrant children, turning 21 means something entirely different – AGING OUT! The CSPA is a slight glimmer of hope but still does not provide enough time after the formula is worked out, With a severe backlog in processing times, the administration should through executive orders or help of congress, freeze the age of immigrant dependents at the time of I-140 Approval on a conditional basis, that if an I-485 is granted, then this age that was frozen will be used for immigration purposes. This will help to keep families together and prevent the addition of more illegal aliens.
