Freeze congress and the senate pay until they balance the budget. Force the congress and senate feel what the federal work has to go through on a pay freeze. Do not allow congress to freeze the pay of federal workers.
Also stop congress from being able to vote on a pay raise for them selves and cut their pay to 150,000 a year, plus housing, substance allowance, and free travel for official travel only. Pay raises must be voted on by the people and not by the congress or senate. Also the pay raise can not be attached to any other bill. This will force congress and the senate to balance the budgets and feel what the people of the US have had to go through the last few years. Make politicians work for their money.
