Israel is the top recipient of U.S. foreign aid. Yet Prime Minister Netanyahu's recent unguarded comments reveal that he feels this support will come without regard for the severity or legitimacy of Israel's military actions. The massive shelling and airstrikes on Gaza are too indiscriminate and disproportional to be seen as legitimate defense.
