fulfill its promise from 2008 by issuing an executive order to close the prison camp stationed in Guantanamo Bay.

Created by S.T. on November 13, 2012

The Guantanamo Bay prison camp is a travesty of justice that the Obama Administration promised to correct in its first year in office. While the logistics of closing the camp and relocating the suspected terrorists are no doubt daunting, the failure of the United States to extend the Constitutional rights of due process and trial by jury to its extraterritorial prisoners, even prisoners of war, goes against the basic principles we Americans purport to hold in our heart of hearts.

The Obama Administration must issue an executive order to close the prison camp and relocate the prisoners to a military base on US soil where the prisoners may be granted their basic rights.
