The United States is spending millions of taxpayer dollars funding the DEA and Homeland Security efforts to enforce drug laws and abate narco terrorism and the current war on Mexican drug cartels that are bringing crystal meth into the US by the metric ton by factory meth production. Additionally, the supply of cheap heroin to the United States is a threat to our National Security with many cities seeing a growth in numbers of young heroin addicts.
If US and NATO Forces have a non-interference policy with Afghan poppy farming the potential exists for even more and cheaper heroin imported into the United States. There should be a full accounting to the citizens of the United States of the potential impact this may cause to DEA and Federal drug war costs to taxpayers.
