Full Health Care Coverage for Artists (which was a campaign promise made by Pres. Obama on his website in 2007)

In 2007, President Obama made a campaign promise on his web site to give total health care benefits to all artists and we declare that it is imperative for the health of our nation's culture that this campaign promise be fulfilled. Artists in nations where inexpensive health care is offered to its citizens have an edge on American artists, thus giving them an advantage over our artists to create more freely without the restraints of market place pressures. We have become a nation that can produce sophisticated high technologies and manufacture endless quantities of consumer goods, but we do not promote artistic freedom and creativity and we neglect our creative citizens. Artists should be afforded total medical coverage, as well as maternity, dental, and prescription.
