The greatest and most effective fighting force against Daesh (also known as Islamic State, ISIS or ISIL) is the Kurdish Peshmerga.
These Peshmerga men and women continue to exhibit sacrificial bravery and consistent heroism in their uneven fight against a better equipped adversary.
It is uneven because the terrorists have captured a considerable amount of heavy US equipment taken from fleeing Iraqi soldiers. It is uneven because the authorities in Baghdad continue to renege on their agreements with Erbil.
The signers of this petition respectfully and urgently request the President to change US foreign policy and immediately supply the Kurdish Peshmerga fully and directly with heavy military equipment so that they may more effectively prosecute the war against terrorism.
