The Syrian Democratic Forces are a multi-ethnic and multi-religious alliance of militias in the Syrian Civil War that has established a federal system of government granting fundamental right of gender equality, freedom of religion, and property to all citizens. The SDF have sacrificed countless lives for our war on ISIS and is currently sheltering more than a million refugees and successfully governing over four million people.
The future of SDF and the Federation of Northern Syria is in peril. Unrecognized by the Syrian regime, Turkey or Russia, they depend heavily on our continued assistance, now in doubt due to the uncertain policy of the new President. We call on this administration to immediately provide SDF with all of the heavy weapons and equipment needed to secure its future.
